How It Works

The Parlor Network Forum is the online home for your club. It's where members share reviews, post articles, rate products, and connect with each other between meetups. Here's a guide to everything you can do.

Your Profile

Head to Profile to set up your account. You can:

• Upload a profile photo — click the + button on your avatar
• Set a display name — how other members will see you
• Add your location and interests — help other members find common ground
• Write a bio — tell the community about yourself

Your profile also shows your group, your role, and when you joined.

Creating Content

Go to Create New to share something with the community. You can create several types of content:

Posts

General posts for sharing thoughts, experiences, photos, or starting a conversation. Add a title, write your text, and optionally attach an image.

Reviews

Write a detailed review of a product. Select the product from the dropdown, give your review a title, and share your honest opinion. Reviews are linked to the product's detail page so other members can find them.

Ratings

Rate a product on a scale of 1-10. Ratings are aggregated to show an average score on the product page. You can also add text to explain your rating.

Articles

Longer-form content for in-depth topics — a cigar pairing guide, a whisky region breakdown, a style guide. Articles have a topic field and support image uploads.

Journals

Personal journal entries for tracking your experiences. Note what you smoked, what you drank, what you wore. Journals can be public or private.

The Community Feed

The Feed is the main page once you're logged in. It shows all content from all members in reverse chronological order. You can:

• Filter by type — use the filter buttons to show only Reviews, Articles, Posts, etc.
• Click any post — opens the full detail view with complete content
• Like posts — click the heart to show appreciation
• Comment — join the conversation on any post

Brands & Products

The Brands page is a directory of brands across cigars, whisky, menswear, cologne, and more.

• Browse brands — search by name or category
• Click a brand — see its full profile, history, country of origin, and products
• View products — each brand lists its products, click through to see reviews and ratings
• Leave reviews and comments — share your experience with a brand or product

You can also add new brands and products from the Create New page.

Networks

Networks are communities within the forum. Think of them as circles or groups organized around a specific interest, location, or topic.

• Browse networks — see what communities exist
• Join a network — click into a network and hit Join to become a member
• Post in networks — members can create posts within the network
• Comment and like — interact with network posts just like the main feed
• Create a network — start your own community around any topic
• Leave a network — you can leave anytime

Networks are a great way to organize conversations that don't belong in the general feed — a local chapter, a specific hobby, a tasting group.

Messages

Use Messages to communicate directly with other members. Messages are private between you and the recipient.

Groups & Roles

Every member of The Parlor Network Forum belongs to a group. Groups are created by the site admin and managed by group admins.

• Members — can post, review, rate, comment, message, and join networks
• Group Admins — manage their group's membership and create invite links for new members
• Super Admin — manages the entire platform, creates groups, and oversees all content

Your group and role are visible on your profile page.

Search

Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on Mac) anywhere on the site to open the global search. Search across posts, articles, reviews, brands, and more.
